Zahra is a 10-year-year-old girl, she is from a family of seven which includes her father, mother, and five sisters.

Her father has an auction sales shop and his daily income is 50Afs. Zahra has said that her father is having a hard time selling used clothes and is unable to even make enough money for bread.  Many nights are spent going to bed hungry. 

Zahra works with her mother from home. She cleans and washes used clothing at home so her dad can sell them for a good price at auction.

The family lives in a rental house, which is basically 2 big rooms. It is a struggle for Zahra to go to school and gain good marks when she has gone to bed hungry.  She has big dreams and ambitions to someday become a pilot as this would help provide for the happiness and good health of her parents. 

She said that Salam cafe has changed her life as it gives her the education and the sustenance to continue with her dreams of someday flying as a pilot.

These funds will support the family with a tiny shop to sell clothing and pay for their rent for the next year.
