Hajar is 11 years old and was one of the first kids at Salam Cafe.

Her older brother and all three sisters are farmers in the Bamyan province. The mother is a laundry lady in Kabul but is an old woman and needs assistance. Hajar helps her mom by selling gum on the streets.

She enjoys learning and playing with other children at Salam Cafe. She is starting to feel that she may still have a future in Kabul.

We want to provide them with farming equipment, and seeds so they can plant fruit, beans, rice, and vegetables.
